Peckers
Peckers is a family-run fried chicken brand with roots in Hitchin going back to 1978. We gave them a website with the same appetite as the food — a story-led, order-ready home for seriously good chicken.

Overview
Peckers isn't a faceless chain — it's two brothers, Rishi and Sanjay, carrying a family business that began as their grandad's Hitchin shop in 1978 into a new era of seriously good chicken. They needed a website that could do three jobs at once: tell that heritage story, make the food impossible to resist, and get an order moving in a couple of taps. We built a warm, dark, appetite-first experience that leads with the food, threads the family history through every scroll, and hands off cleanly to their Click & Collect and delivery ordering.

Creative challenges
Heritage you can feel
Four decades of family history — grandad's 1978 off-license, the Budgens years, the full-circle return to his original site as Peckers Hitchin — is the brand's whole soul. We turned it into a scroll-driven journey rather than a buried About page, so first-time visitors buy into the people behind the counter before they ever reach the menu.
Fast, and still mouth-watering
Food sells on craving, and craving lives in big, rich imagery — which usually means a heavy, sluggish site. We art-directed and compressed every shot, streamed media in as you scroll, and kept the critical path lean so the chicken looks devastating and the page still opens in a blink.
From craving to checkout
A hungry visitor shouldn't have to hunt. We wired the site straight into Peckers' Click & Collect and delivery platforms, surfaced the nearest of their growing list of locations, and made joining the Inner Circle rewards a single obvious step — collapsing the distance between “that looks good” and “it's on its way.”
The outcome
The result tastes like the brand: bold, warm, and unmistakably Peckers. The family story now does the selling, the food does the craving, and ordering is never more than a tap away across both Hitchin and Stevenage — with room built in for every town they open next. Peckers Hitchin already holds a 4.7-star rating across hundreds of Google reviews; the site finally gives that reputation a home worthy of seriously good chicken.
